    College Photographer of the Year Competition Announces Winners

    Winners were announced Saturday, November 15th at the conclusion of judging for the 63rd College Photographer of the Year competition on the campus of the University of Missouri in Columbia, Mo. Judges viewed 13,313 still images and 169 multimedia projects entered by 566 student photographers from 121 colleges and universities in 13 different countries.

    The 63rd College Photographer of the Year is Tim Hussin of the University of Florida. Hussin’s work was awarded the gold in the portfolio category as well as gold in multimedia - individual still image/audio story or essay. He was also the silver winner in multimedia - individual video/mixed media story or essay and the bronze winner in documentary picture story.

    Amanda Lucier of the University of Missouri is the First Runner-up with silver in the portfolio category.

    Second Runner-up with a bronze in the portfolio category is Lane Christiansen of Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

    Judges for this year’s competition were Melissa Farlow, freelancer for National Geographic; Travis Fox, multimedia producer at Washingtonpost.com; Tammy Lechner, freelancer/co-owner of Still Productions and Steve Rice, photographer/videographer at the Star Tribune.
