We were just talking," Bennette said, referring to the man she had been found sitting with in a car. Bennette has been previously cited for prostitution. Bennette is homeless and uses prostitution as a means to support a drug addiction. She began smoking crack after being molested by her stepfather when she was 16, Bennette said. The Rescue
Firefighters grab hold to a 21-year-old Concord woman who became stranded on a rock in the Merrimack River downstream from the Sewalls Falls Bridge after a pool raft she was riding deflated Wednesday, June 30, 2010. The woman, who declined to give her name, was traveling with two friends, also 21, on $5 rafts, she said. Three Concord firefighters reached her about 1:20 p.m.. The woman really wasn't prepared for what she was doing, said fire Battalion Chief Bill Weinhold. "It's unfortunate that people put themselves in a position where we have to come and get them and tie up resources."

    Nashville Underwater
The first weekend in May of 2010 brings a constant rain storm for two days without any let up, causing the Cumberland River in Nashville to flood. More rain fell in a 24 hour period than ever before. Throughout the city many residents were forced from their homes and businesses. Evacuations and rescue teams worked for hours to help get people to shelter. Here an Oklahoman family wades through water to seek refuge at a nearby Days Inn near downtown Nashville.
