Adam Jackson of Arkansas State hit the distance bar during the pole-vaulting competition. The Vanderbilt Invitational was held on Friday in Nashville, Tenn. A standout pole-vaulter in high school, Jackson attends school on an academic scholarship and only recently tried out for the team.

USA forward Abby Wambach ran into Mexico defender Natalie Vinti at the 2008 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Wambach had one goal in a rousing 3-1 victory over Mexico in front of a sold-out crowd of 22,280 at the Estadio Olimpico Benito Juarez.
