Priorities
Eleven-year-old Lane Gaunt looks through his reorganized rookie football cards in his bedroom, which he has been collecting the cards for the last year and a half. He says he has more cards than notebooks, so when he rearranges them, he has to take his old arrangement out and pile it back on the floor. Though his family has little, they are happy with what they do have. His stepfather, Troy says, “I am so lucky to have such a wonderful family.”

The Let Down
Silence filled the locker room during halftime for the LaRue County Hawks on Nov. 2, 2007. Coach Armes gave the team the silent treatment and stayed in his office, while the team sat in despair. Junior Eric Patterson, left, and junior Tyler Moore sat in the shower room mumbling and grunting. 'We've made an embarrassment of ourselves!' echoes through the field house as a teammate yells from across the hall. 'I don't have much to say.' Eric replied when asked to comment about the game so far. The Hawks lost to Warren East Raiders 40-14.
