On November 1, 2009, Williams violated curfew for the second time and was let go from the Syracuse University football team, leaving his future in football uncertain. Disciplinary concerns blurred Williams' credibility as a pick in the draft where 32 teams passed on him over three rounds. "Everybody else has judgments on you," Williams said. "So let's get one for the family."
