A Human Loss
Flint police officers restrain Neketia Alyatim after she arrived at the scene of a shooting that fatally wounded her husband Monir Alyatim while he was working around 11:15 p.m. Sunday night at Saba's Mini Mart on Stewart Avenue and Dupont Street in Flint, Mich. "My husband, my husband," said Neketia. The suspects fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.

Kimberly DeHart of Ventura, Calif., removes animal cages from her RV after it caught fire while she was driving south on interstate 33 in Ventura, Calif., on September 17, 2008. The incident occurred when the windshield of the RV fell in causing Kimberly to panic and swerve into the guardrail. Kimberly was living in the RV at the time and though she was able to get her various pets out safely she lost all of her possessions in the fire.
