A New Beginning
Domestic Picture Story
January 23rd, I was on my way to Denmark to study photojournalism feeling that something might happen in Egypt but i was sure that it will last for 2 days maximum as usual. It was a terrible week for me, seeing my country in a real revolution and I'm out in a quite place. i went back on the 3rd of February just to document the history of my country & to be part of the change happening to Egypt. Being there as an Egyptian and photographer was really important for me, seeing people fighting for their dignity, freedom and protecting Tahrir square because finally they felt that they need their Egypt back. I couldn't believe how peaceful it was, everyone was happy, creative and well organized. 11th of February is one of the most important dates in the history of Egypt, it's the date Mubarak stepped down by the power of people. People were running in the streets, tears, smiles and dancing everywhere. I remember the day after his resignation i felt something that's really weird, the air smells different, I can breath freedom , Finally i feel my country is back. It's our Egypt.
