    The Lost Boys of Belgrade
    Silver
    Interpretive Project

The borders to Hungary and Croatia are closed and the refugees are therefore stranded at the central train station in Belgrade, Serbia. During the winter the temperature drops down to minus 15 degrees Celsius and they make fires out of toxic garbage to keep warm. I traveled to Serbia to examine the living conditions of the migrants and refugees. I wanted to give as much of a sense of what it is like for those living at the train station. Instead of taking a more traditional approach of merely documenting those conditions, I decided to use a more poetic and emotional approach. My goal was to transport the viewer into the reality these people face every day.
