    Influence of the Landfill
    Bronze
    Interpretive Project

The aim of the project is to explore how rubbish interacts with nature and people basing on the example of Landfill in Kuchino which is 60 hectares. This is the second biggest landfill in Moscow Region. The project reveals the combination of three elements: nature, man and rubbish. All the three elements are interconnected: a man is the part of nature and rubbish is the part of a man. What’s more, man and nature are involved in the eternal conflict and constantly suppress each other. The key link of the chain is man who influences the nature producing rubbish, what subsequently has influence on himself. Idea of the project is to show the impact of landfill basing on the examples of my own photos. What will happen with the printed photos if they become rubbish? Will they lose their value? To show the influence of landfill I don´t only take the pictures of people and waste they produce but I also turn landfill into the co-author of creating images. The photos were placed in a landfill for 1 week and then scanned.
