Domestic Picture Story
The San Clemente Pier, built by city-founder Ole Hanson in the late 1920s, is a staple of the beach town. With a restaurant at the base and snack shop near the end of the pier, a clean beach and great surfing, the pier draws hundreds of people on a daily basis. And, although a few violent storms have destroyed parts of the pier since its construction, citizens have always supported its reconstruction. The pier is an essential part of the identity of the town of San Clemente. This story shows the events that take place near this man-made extension over the ocean on a daily basis.
