Your Veil is a Battleground captures the daily lives of a group of young Iranian women who take risks to put on a bit more makeup, push their headscarves farther back, roll their sleeves up, and wear more colourful outfits. Every summer, when heat wave arrives, the morality police, with ridiculous rules, start a crackdown, mostly on women over their look and outfits.

Women are not allowed to swim, in the public, even fully clothed. Sheida and Behnoosh escape the hot and humid night and hit the Caspian Sea with their manteaus and scarves on. Later in the night, they were forced to leave the beach by morality police.

Some cafes refuse to serve hooka to women, this has especially been escalated since President Ahmadinejad was elected in 2005. Sheida and her friends manages to find a shoreside cafe in a less touristy beach, ending their night in peace.
